State Approvals for short-term care insurance policies. There are several insurance companies that currently offer what we refer to as short-term care insurance policies. These plans provide a range of benefits. Most people look at these policies as an affordable way to provide more affordable coverage for home care, for the costs of assisted living and even for skilled nursing home care.
The National Advisory Center for Short-Term Care Information does not sell short-term care insurance. We advocate for it as a meaningful form of protection and help connect interested consumers with knowledgeable insurance professionals.
Policies are NOT available in all states. And, where states allow for the sale of these policies … not all companies offer them.
With that in mind, we post the most current listing of approved states.
MESSAGE FOR CONSUMERS
Insurance companies do NOT directly sell short-term care insurance. If you contact a company directly, they typically refer you to an agent who might only represent their company’s policy. That is why we do NOT include the names of specific companies. WE BELIEVE it is in the consumer’s best interest to connect with a knowledgeable ‘broker’ who has knowledge about the various short-term care insurance policies available. They can compare your options.
MESSAGE FOR AGENTS
If you would like to start selling short-term care insurance to your clients, please call our organization at 818-597-3205. We will be glad to help you get started.
The National Advisory Center for Short-Term Care Insurance was established by Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance and the American Association for Critical Illness Insurance to help create heightened awareness and understanding about the benefits offered by this form of protection. Our efforts are not currently supported by an insurance company. Neither do we have agent members. Our efforts are undertaken because of my personal believe that this is a valuable option for individuals. Thank you for taking the time to visit this website. I welcome your feedback and comments.
